We know developers want the best of everything when it comes to their development tooling environment.  We also know that developers want to ensure that their tools integrate with the other tools in their toolbox that they regularly use.  Here at HCL, our Products & Platform division is driven to deliver on those expectations.  We have a young development team that is currently growing, see careers at HCL, to meet the needs of our customers – YOU – the application developer!  The focus of this Rational Application Developer for WebSphere (RAD) 9.6.1 mod release was all about currency; currency of your operating systems, your databases and of course currency of your middleware.

If you are an existing user of Rational Application Developer for WebSphere you already know all about how RAD is optimized for IBM middleware: To learn more about this optimization, take a look at the Knowledge Center to read specific highlights from each of our RAD releases. The RAD product page is where you can download the 60-day no-charge trial and get more details on RAD features.  RAD 9.6 ensured that its middleware currency was available for the recent announced lightweight Liberty Profile and the full WebSphere Application Server 9.0, in addition to the IBM Bluemix cloud development platform.  With this RAD 9.6.1 release, RAD has currency with the newest IBM WebSphere Portal Server 9.0 which helps you create adaptive and compelling digital experiences for your customers, suppliers, partners, and employees.

As a user of Rational Application Developer for WebSphere you are well equipped to deliver your robust solution integrating with your company’s DevOps pipeline.  From your integrated Eclipse workbench you can:
