New release of Design Room ONE version 2.0 2020.10 brings several important improvements to its customers. While authentication functionality remains Experimental in this sprint, it can now be configured to use Jazz Authorization Server as identity provider and if the same server is used for authorization of Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) server the user will only have to authorize once and then have acces to both Design Room ONE and CLM resources. See authentication setup document, which is now a part of root delivery contents for further details.
The delivery from sprint 2020.03 is the new version 2.0 of Design Room ONE and the greatest news in it is the integration with Keycloak to support authentication and user management. Please refer to Authentication Setup Guide on this site or in Help Contents page of your Design Room ONE installation for configuration instructions. After the integration setup is completed it becomes possible to limit access to Design Room ONE server only to selected users. It also supports clear management of reader and publisher permissions. And with flexibility provided by wildcards and user groups it can be done in any way your projects require: from having a single setting for everything in the server to different options for each or several of the designs. See this short video or keep reading for more information.
Sprint 2019.27 brings an update the tree structure of UML Real Time models in the Explorer view, check the video or read further for details.
New version 1.2 of Design Room ONE is out in this sprint featuring improved Real-time support with profile versions, simplified client installation, and new command to show the Code view. See the video or keep reading for details.
One of the requests we were getting from DR.ONE customers was to show C++ code specified in UML Real-time models e.g. as transition effect or state entry or exit actions. And in sprint 2019.19 this request was fulfilled by introduction of a new Code View along with other improvements in properties support for real time models. Watch this video or read further for details.
Generating executable C++ code from UML Real-Time models is not a trivial task, because of the great amount of options. For example, C++ implementation of a Class may or may not include copy constructor, destructor, which may be virtual, equality / inequality / assignments operators etc. HCL RTist and RSA RTE solve this issue beautifully by providing C++ generation settings tab in their Properties view. Since code generation details can contain valuable information we worked on their presentation in sprint 2019.11 and the results are now available in for download. Besides classes representation of code generation settings was improved for many other elements including Generalizations, Operations, Parameters, and Enumeration Literals.
In the second sprint this year Design Room ONE continued on its way to provide close-to-native Properties view for elements of UML Real-time models.
Happy New 2019.03 Design Room ONE! It brings a lot of good news to its customers, see the video or read below. It now supports latest Rational Software Architect Designer 9.7, check updated Installation Instructions for details. Other improvements include customized Properties pages for UML RT elements.
