IBM Rational Software Architect Designer (RSAD) family is known as a comprehensive design, modeling and development tool for end-to-end software delivery. The addition of Design Room ONE, a replacement for Design Manager, provides the expected integration with the Jazz Collaborative Lifecycle Management (CLM) V6.0.4 products through Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) APIs.
RSAD users will enjoy the simplified interface in their Explorer and Property views, in addition to the robust graphical diagram interface. Traceability is enhanced with the delivery of the Requirement Management plugin that is now part of Design Room ONE, to enable outgoing linking to, for example, a DOORS NG requirement. RSAD users can send a link to all their team members and stakeholders providing access to any RSAD model element without the requirement of having RSAD installed. With this new modern web application architecture and the continuous delivery methodology in place for Design Room ONE, the scaling needs of our RSAD users can be met. HCL is excited to deliver this new Design Room architecture to our RSAD users with the addition of Design Room ONE, a replacement of Design Manager.
Design Room ONE will be continuously delivered every 3rd week and customers can influence the tool’s evolution by submitting a Request for Enhancement on the RFE Community and participating on the DevOps Community forum. We encourage our RSAD users to explore the Design Room ONE content out on the DevOps Community to review the User Guide, blogs and videos to familiarize themselves with this new technology.
In addition, the Design Room architecture is being expanded to a new Design Room Live extension that provides a real-time, multi-user, cross-site collaboration modeling tool. Registration for this beta is available now here.
