HCL is excited to announce HCL RealTime Software Tooling (RTist), a development tool specifically focused on helping software engineers create and deliver complex, event-driven real-time applications. Join the live webinar on October 23 to learn more and ask questions.
This Eclipse-based modeling and development environment provides users with a workbench rich in tooling capabilities to design, test, debug and deliver their embedded, real-time systems and IoT application at a higher abstraction level than code. Inherent in the visual models that RTist users create, is the ease at which teams, business owners and other stakeholders can better understand and maintain complex real-time applications.
HCL RTist is a fully developed modeling workbench for developers to create and deliver their real-time applications. This short RTist video provides a glimpse of the rich set of capabilities delivered in RTist. As an example, the model debugger is a clear differentiator; it allows you to debug your real-time application at the same high abstraction level at which you design it. You can use it both for controlling execution of the application (e.g. putting a breakpoint on a certain state) and for observing what the application is doing at run-time (e.g. tracing events received on a certain port). You can either debug the application locally or attach the model debugger to an application that runs remotely (for example, when deployed in the target environment – figure 1). It is possible and useful to combine high-level model debugging with traditional low-level C++ debugging.
HCL RTist is delivered on four-week Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery schedule providing RTist users with the advantage of having their requirement and any fixes considered and delivered quickly. For each delivery the HCL team’s goal is to post release notes, what’s new, videos and blogs for the specific iteration – this is all delivered on the Real Time Developer page on the DevOps Community here. HCL RTist is a mature product, as a derivative of IBM Rational Software Architect RealTime Edition, and is built by a team with many years of experience and entrenched in the modeling industry.
HCL RealTime Software Tooling has monthly consumption pricing. For more information on how your team can learn more about RTist or start using RTist now, please contact us.
